The map below was obtained from Listings USA.  To give you better geographical perspective, red squares are placed in areas where pictures on this site were taken.  Eielson Air Force Base is eleven miles south-east of North Pole.  It may seem as though we've only explored a small portion of the state, but keep in mind that the little brown lines on there are not just roads, they are the ONLY roads.  Most of the villages in the west must be reached by bush plane or dogsled.  The distance from Fairbanks to Anchorage is 350 miles.
