July 2005 |
Tanya's parents, Curt and Donna, came to visit
us in July. We had a great time, and for once nobody got arrested! |
We went to Biscoitos and had lunch, and then we went
swimming. We sat at a red table. |
Curt and I proved how tough we were by standing
on some lava rocks and having a crab take our picture. He wanted
four Euros to do it but I talked him down to two. |
Here we are at an old stone picnic table in Serreta.
Curt looks like he just ate one of the dried leaves.. |

Curt samples the famous Portuguese "Air
Beer" which has no calories... |
We went to the cheese factory in Cinco Ribeiras.
This is the man who cuts the cheese. He was nice enough to show us
exactly how much cheese he can cut. |
Donna takes in the view at Ponta do Raminho
while Tanya points out the three other islands you can see from there
(but not in this picture). |
The illustrious Duck Lake. Surrounded by
hydrangeas, this is were the rich and famous of Terceira come to hang
out. |
We spent a lot of time sitting at tables.
That's okay, though, because tables usually come with beer. Here
we are in front of Angra Harbor. |
It's always cold on top of Santa Barbara, which is the
highest point on the island at 1,021 meters (3,349 feet). That's
Monte Brasil in the background. |
